Aperitif Concerts

Piccolo Regio Puccini, from Sunday 12 October 2008 till Sunday 19 April 2009

The Aperitif Concerts, one hour of music followed by an apéritif, is a new initiative that started at the Regio in February 2008. This series of appointments, each with an apéritif offered in the Foyer del Toro, takes place at the Piccolo Regio Puccini on Sunday mornings at 11 a.m. and sees the involvement of all the Regio Chamber Groups, as well as the Children’s Chorus of the Regio and the “G. Verdi” Conservatory. After the six concerts performed in the spring of 2008, this season will feature another thirteen groups starring in 13 concerts between October and May.

The Regio Chamber Groups, currently eighteen in number – a sign of the enthusiasm and cultural vivacity that stimulates the ‘professors’ of the Orchestra, the artists of the Chorus and the musical collaborators of the Theatre – propose a fascinating musical journey, in which the greats from classical repertoire and jazz come together with lesser known pages from the vast musical literature.

It is also a new way to experience and frequent the Teatro Regio; something more for the people of Turin and the many tourists who love to stroll through the city centre on Sunday mornings; a new opportunity to listen to an hour of music, perhaps in the company of the entire family, and then enjoy an aperitif when it is over.
