Teatro Regio di Torino celebrates a major achievement: Ambroise Thomas’s Hamlet has been honored with the 2025 "Franco Abbiati" National Critics’ Award in the Sets and Costumes category.

The prestigious award, granted by the Associazione Nazionale Critici Musicali, was presented to Gary McCann for the sets and Giada Masi for the costumes of the Regio’s production. Directed by Jacopo Spirei and conducted by Jérémie Rhorer leading the Teatro Regio Orchestra and Chorus, the production was recognized for its visual and theatrical power. The staging successfully crafted a hauntingly gothic and psychological universe, where scenery and costumes intensely define the characters' identities and the restless atmosphere of Shakespearean tragedy.

A unique opportunity to experience this award-winning production is available via free streaming on OperaVision, accessible until March 19, 2026, at 12:00 PM. In addition to the full opera, the platform offers special features, including backstage footage and insightful interviews exploring the production's genesis and the artists' creative process.
