2014-2015 Season


Teatro Regio: the opera with no limits

There will be seventeen titles, thirteen operas, seven new productions, the Ballet Nacional de Cuba and a Gala Roberto Bolle and Friends as well as greatest étoile internationally acclaimed. Such an intense Season has never been seen before which also include a cycle dedicated to Brahms’ symphonies as well as the concerts and the tours that will take place even before this Season’s Premiere: firstly in St. Petersburg, then Stresa, Edinburgh and, in December, in North America, will be followed by.

In the 2014-2015 Season our repertoire will be further expanded, presenting operas that cover a broad European musical range comprising the eighteenth and twentieth centuries: from Handel to Granados, through Mozart, Gounod and Humperdinck. However, our Italian repertoire will present four completely new productions dedicated to operas by Verdi, Bellini, Rossini and Puccini. These productions will widen the range of the Theatre’s repertoire in the process of the regeneration of our theatrical heritage.

The Messa da Requiem by Giuseppe Verdi (30th September - 7th October) is the masterpiece to open the 2014-2015 Season. The Orchestra and Chorus of the Regio will be conducted by Gianandrea Noseda. A score that we presented with unanimously applauded around the world now brought home to our audience’s delight with four internationally acclaimed soloists: Hui He, Daniela Barcellona, Jorge de León and Michele Pertusi. The Choir, the real protagonist of Verdi’s sacred masterpiece, will be conducted by Claudio Fenoglio.
