Pinocchio the explorer, the new Ulysses on the discovery of infinite worlds opening before him, is the character imagined by choreographer Fabrizio Monteverde in this two-act ballet freely based on the novel by Carlo Collodi. Pinocchio meets numerous characters during a journey that symbolically goes from birth to death, «and in the middle, everything that should lead you to become People». And so being with Geppetto, the Fairy with Turquoise Hair, the Talking Cricket, the Cat and the Fox and many others are key encounters. At times, they bring good advice and at times have a negative influence, but allow Pinocchio to grow. The music is a collage of pieces by Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, Offenbach and traditional African music, while the stage project, the and the structures are by Paolo Calafiore, already an author with Monteverde of the free-and-easy Fantasma di Canterville, also produced by the Teatro Regio a few years ago.
