A season that alternates both great masterpieces with lesser known works and budding young conductors with well-known international names. This, in short, is the new season of The 2010-2011 Concerts that opens on 21 October at the Teatro Regio: nine appointments with the Orchestra and Chorus of the Regio and with the Filarmonica ‘900 del Teatro Regio.
Music Director Gianandrea Noseda will be on the podium of the Orchestra and Chorus of the Regio for the inaugural evening, Thursday 21 October at 8.30 pm, with a programme that reflects his enthusiasm for Russian music: the cantata Alexander Nevsky by Sergei Prokofiev – with the participation of mezzo-soprano Nadežda Serdjuk – and Sergei Rachmaninov’s Second Symphony. The Regio Chorus will be directed, as usual, by Maestro Roberto Gabbiani. The concert is realized with the support of the Agenzia Spaziale Italiana [Italian Space Agency].
