The Teatro Regio is the first Italian Theatre to be on a European Web Portal completely dedicated to Opera
We are pleased to announce that the Teatro Regio Torino is the only Italian theatre to be part of The Opera Platform, the first web platform dedicated to opera, available for free as from tomorrow, Friday 8th May on www.theoperaplatform.eu
The platform’s aim is that of divulging opera in the world. It has won the support of the European Commission and was organized by “Opera Europa”, the association that brings Theatres and Festivals around Europe, along with the cultural channel ARTE. On The Opera Platform you will find, for free both on streaming and on demand, the best productions of the most important fifteen European theatres: from the Wiener Staatsoper to the Teatro Real in Madrid, to the Royal Opera House Covent Garden in London, to name just a few.
The web platform will be available in three languages - English, French and German - and it will offer: free full operas, extracts of many productions, patterns, booklets, interviews with actors and some “behind-the-scenes”. A new opera will be made available every month with subtitles in six languages: English, French, German, Italian, Polish and Spanish - and it will be made available for six months.
The opera season on this European platform debuts with the live broadcast of La Traviata from the Teatro Real in Madrid on 8th May at 19:55.
