We are extremely pleased to announce that the production of Verdi’s Macbeth, directed by Emma Dante and conducted by Gianandrea Noseda, which the Teatro Regio presented recently at the Edinburgh International Festival, has won the Herald Angel Award as “one of the most interesting and innovative events to be seen in this 70th edition of the festival”.

The prize, which dates back to 1995, is awarded by the critics of The Herald newspaper and is handed out by Keith Bruce, Arts Editor of the Herald, and by Fergus Linehan, Artistic Director of the festival. At the awards ceremony, which took place this morning in the festival theatre, the General Manager of the Teatro Regio, Walter Vergnano, was present: “We are very proud of this recognition that underlines once again the great work we have been carrying out in these years. An artistic growth that has led us today to be Ambassadors of Italian Culture around the world, a responsibility that we bear with pride. Therefore I would like to express my deepest gratitude to everyone at the Teatro Regio, all part of this important success. Special thanks go to Gianandrea Noseda for his energy that sweeps through the entire theatre and to our Artistic Director Gastón Fournier-Facio for the passion with which he carries out his job”.
