Workshop-game on the opera
Cinderella
for parents and children

The workshop takes place every Saturday from October 2007 to June 2008 with the exception of holidays and those when a dress rehearsal or matinee performance is scheduled.

Time: 3 pm.
Meeting point: in front of the Theatre ticket office.
Workshop duration: 3 hours

Rossini composed Cenerentola in 1817 on the beautiful libretto that Jacopo Ferretti based on the fairy tale Cendrillon, ou La petite pantoufle de verre by Charles Perrault. The popular story contrasts the servant Cinderella – in reality the noble Angellina – and the two quarrelsome step-sisters, as they hunt for the rich prince Don Ramiro. The opera met with progressive success– so much so, in fact, that it surpassed for a long period that of The Barber of Seville – thanks to the memorable vis comica of the characters, the overwhelming whirlwind of the music and the passionate singing of the characters.

During the course of the workshop, an expert will work with adults and children to create a few scenes from the opera.

After a short visit to the most interesting parts of the theatre (foyer, hall and stage) and the narration of the story, the public will have a go at dramatising one or two episodes with the performance of short musical moments and choreographic movement.

No musical competence is required.
