Teatro Regio costumes in the halls of the Castle

Fragments of Opera

Exhibit prepared by Progetto Cantoregi and Racconigi Castle

60 opera costumes from the Teatro Regio will constitute a fascinating and suggestive tour of the castle, from the view over the garden in the Hall of Diana to the Chinese Rooms, from the kitchens to the billiard room, from the servants’ attics to the princes’ rooms. Along the way you will meet courtesans of the 1700s, Rodolfo and Mimì, elegant ladies ready for the ball, Scarpia and Tosca, court dignitaries, the common people of Paris, Violetta and Madama Butterfly.

A journey through history, art and opera made even more realistic by the presence of marvellous costumes that, for once, can be seen up close.
